“What I see her doing in the community,” he says, “is of tremendous value to Apopka and northwest Orange County.” She, with other televangelists who have made millions of dollars through the prosperity gospel, was the subject of an inconclusive 2007-2011 Senate investigation, with which she refused to co-operate.
Michael Horton, a professor of theology at Westminster Seminary California, wrote in early January 2017 that White represented a heretical movement, and that her then-upcoming address at President Trump's inauguration was helping to introduce heresy into mainstream public life.
“The publication, which is known for its bias and slanting of the truth, tries to mislead readers regarding the ministerial relationship and friendship I have had with Pastor Benny for over 20 years,” she wrote. There is nothing inappropriate or morally improper about my friendship with Paula White.
